From an efficiency house to a passive house
Would you like it more frugal?
Every Engelhardt-house is principally built as an energy-efficient house. We like to set a higher standard on energy efficiency, sustainability and ecology – namely in a greater energy efficiency, which means a lower energy requirement.
Solar energy, geothermal, rainwater as domestic water, the ideas for the energy mix of a house are almost endless. That’s how we obtain current energy standards, which means the lowest possible energy consumption per square meter living-space (the so-called energy reference area) and year. That is our benchmark for planning and building technology.
We attain energy efficiency through sophisticated architecture with efficient thermal insulation of biologically healthy materials and an optimal renewable energy mix , as with ventilation systems that improve the indoor climate and minimize heat loss. A passive house gets through the winter without any radiator.
We like to use a heating technology that utilizes the efficiency of heat immediately, like the floor heating, which for example is fed by geothermal energy, or the pellet stove which uses renewable resources.
Through the intelligent combination of architecture and building technology, we obtain building standards from the so-called efficiency house, that is, with as little energy requirement per square meter living space - up to the plus energy house, which produces its energy requirement on site itself and generates even more energy / power than it needs. A modern plus efficiency house even feeds excess energy profitably into the grid – which is good for you and the environment.
